Privacy Policy
Last Updated: March 7, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Infinicada ("I", "me", or "my") handles information when you use the Focus Pocus mobile application (the "App").
The Short Version: I do not collect personal data. All your blocking configurations, usage stats, and app activity stay on your device. With your consent, the App sends anonymous crash reports and basic usage statistics to help fix bugs and improve the App — no personal information is included, and you can opt out at any time.
1. Data Collection and Use
- No Personal Information: The App does not require you to create an account, log in, or provide your name, email address, or phone number.
- No Advertising ID: The advertising identifier (AD_ID) is explicitly removed from the App. There is no cross-app tracking or ad targeting of any kind.
- Local App Data: All configuration settings, blocked app lists, focus session history, and usage statistics are stored locally on your device and are never transmitted to external servers.
- Optional Anonymous Analytics (see Section 2): With your explicit consent, the App collects anonymous crash reports and basic usage statistics via Firebase (Google). No personal data is included in these reports. You choose during onboarding and can change your preference anytime in Settings.
2. Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics
Focus Pocus uses two Firebase services provided by Google, both of which are off by default and only activated with your consent:
- Firebase Crashlytics (Crash Reporting): When enabled, automatically sends anonymous crash reports if the App crashes unexpectedly. Reports include the stack trace, device model, Android OS version, and App version. No user identifiers, account information, or personal data are attached to crash reports.
- Firebase Analytics (Usage Statistics): When enabled, automatically collects anonymous usage statistics such as session length and general app activity. The advertising identifier (AD_ID) is explicitly excluded. No personal data, account information, or details about which apps you block are ever transmitted.
You are asked for consent during the initial onboarding flow. You can enable or disable both services at any time in Settings → Privacy → Share Analytics. Disabling the toggle immediately stops all data collection and transmission.
Data collected by these Firebase services is processed by Google in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy.
3. Android Permissions
To function as a productivity tool, Focus Pocus requires specific permissions from your Android device. These permissions are used strictly for functionality and never for data collection.
- NFC (Near Field Communication): Required to detect when you tap your phone against an NFC tag to toggle focus on/off. Tag data is processed locally in real-time and never stored or transmitted.
- Accessibility Service: Required to monitor which app is in the foreground so Focus Pocus can enforce blocking and time limits. This monitoring happens entirely on-device; no app activity is uploaded.
- Notification Access: Required to cancel notifications from blocked apps during active focus sessions, preventing interruptions from slipping through.
- Do Not Disturb Access: Required to optionally silence all device notifications during a focus session. Only activated if you choose this setting; all control stays on-device.
- Usage Stats Access: Required to track per-app screen time for daily time limits and the Insights dashboard. Usage data is stored locally on your device and never transmitted.
- Camera: Required to scan QR codes that activate saved focus presets. The camera is only active while the QR scanner is open and no images are stored.
- Post Notifications: Required to display focus session status updates and schedule reminders in the system notification shade.
- Receive Boot Completed: Required to restore active focus sessions and scheduled rituals after your device restarts, so blocking resumes automatically without manual intervention.
4. Data Retention
All local settings and configurations are stored on your device and are immediately deleted when you uninstall the App. Anonymous crash and analytics data sent to Firebase is retained and processed by Google in accordance with their data retention policies. Because no personal identifiers are attached to this data, it cannot be linked back to you.
5. Advertising
Focus Pocus is free and does not display third-party advertisements. The advertising identifier (AD_ID) is explicitly removed and no ad-targeting data is collected.
6. Children's Privacy
The App does not address anyone under the age of 13. As the App does not collect personal information, I do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. I will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
